Second Home Visa (E33)

What is the Second Home Visa (E33)?

With the release of Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights No. 22 of 2023, the government announced the Second Home Visa with an index number of E33. This visa is extendable and has a validity of 5 to 10 years, allowing the holder to:

  1. Carry out many business and investment activities.
  2. Bring eligible family members and sponsor them for the same visa.
  3. Work in Indonesia if the conditions are met.

This long-stay visa is part of an initiative intended to attract qualified foreigners who will benefit the country’s economic development in return for providing them with a welcoming environment to establish a second home in Indonesia. The Second Home Visa (E33) not only promotes foreign investment but also aims to foster cultural exchange and collaboration.

Benefits and Restrictions

The second home visa comes with a range of benefits, such as:

  1. Long stay period, providing foreign residents with the stability and time needed to enjoy what Indonesia has to offer and actively contribute to the local economy and culture.
  2. Business and investment opportunities, allowing visa holders to engage in various business and investment activities, from entrepreneurial ventures to strategic investments in local industries.
  3. Family sponsors, providing foreign residents the option to bring eligible family members and sponsor them for the same visa.
  4. Work Flexibility, meaning visa holders are permitted to work in the country if eligible. This flexibility allows foreign residents to support their livelihood and also facilitates the transfer of skills and knowledge to the local workforce.
  5. Cultural Integration, provides foreign residents with opportunities to participate in local events, share their traditions, and contribute to the rich cultural diversity of Indonesia.

In return for these benefits, the visa holders must:

  1. Report on the compliance of commitments within 90 days after the arrival.
  2. Maintain financial stability during their stay in Indonesia.
  3. Comply with all visa regulations and Indonesian laws.
