Multiple Entry Visa (D212)
What is the Multiple Entry Visa (D212)?
Multiple entry visa (D212) is your best option should you be required to enter the country multiple times for business purposes, government activities, social and family visits, or simply for tourism.
Multiple entry visa (D212) allows you to enter Indonesia multiple times and has a validity period of 1-5 years. Though it is valid for a year or more, you can only stay in the country for a maximum of 60 days per visit. After you stay for 60 days, you’re required to leave the country and enter Indonesia again using the same visa.
It is best suited for those who often go in and out of the country, be it for personal or family visits, social purposes, government activities, or business purposes.
With the issuance of Permenkumham No.22 of 2023, multiple entry visa is further overhauled into several categories:
- D1 for tourism, family visits, and transit.
- D2 for business talks, business meetings, or good purchasing.
- D3 for those who undergo treatment.
- D4 for government activities.
Benefits and Restrictions
Benefits:
- The visa is designed with some specific purposes in mind, one of which is to make it easier for businesses to carry out activities such as looking for business opportunities, local products to export, local companies to invest, or conducting market surveys in the country.
- It’s a multiple-entry visa, meaning that you no longer need to apply for a visa before entering the country. After you land, you can pass the immigration with ease, free of charge, making your journey even faster and hassle-free.
- It offers one of the longest validity periods of a visa, ranging from at least a year of validity up to 5 years and extendable.
Restrictions:
- Even though D2 supports business-related activities, it’s not specifically designed for local employment. If you want to obtain a salary legally from a local business here, you need to apply for another visa called Working KITAS.
- After you stay for 60 days, you need to leave the country. Then, you can enter Indonesia again with the same visa.
You require a guarantor to create a multiple-entry visa.
Requirements
- A passport with a minimum validity of 6 months.
- Proof of living expenses of at least US$2,000 or equivalent.
- The latest coloured photograph.
- A guarantee letter:
- For D1 or tourism and family purposes, you need to provide a guarantee letter from the government or private agency or family member explaining the relation between the applicant and the guarantor.
- For D2 or business-related purposes, you need a guarantee letter from a government agency or related business.
Application Process
- Provide all documents required for the multiple entry visa application and we will verify them for you.
- The documents will be uploaded to the immigration system. Once it’s approved, you will automatically obtain an e-visa.
- You can now enter Indonesia using an e-visa.
- Upon your arrival in Indonesia, you will need to bring us your passport and show up at the immigration to do a biometric session where they will take your photos and fingerprints.
- If everything goes smoothly, you will get your passport and multiple entry visa in 1-2 weeks.
