How to extend your visa in Bali?
If you are in Indonesia for work or leisure, you may be eligible to apply for a visa extension. Simply put, a visa extension will lengthen the period of stay that you are legally allowed to. See the list below to find out the extension process and requirements.
Visa on Arrival (VoA)
Unlike other types of visas that require you to struggle with a complex bureaucracy, VoA offers many conveniences for foreign citizens. You can immediately apply for VoA when you arrive at the airport. You only need to bring your passport and a payment of $35 (USD).
An electronic VoA or e-VoA is also a great option if you don’t want to queue at the airport. The process is online so you can do it long before arriving in Indonesia. Note that it’s only available for 92 countries on the Visa on Arrival holders list. You can check the list here.
If it turns out that your visit takes more than 30 days, you can extend your VoA once. With this extension, you can continue your stay in Indonesia for another 30 days.
To extend your VoA, you can do it yourself or you can count on us to make the process easier. If you choose to do it yourself, here are the steps you need to do:
- Visit your local immigration office. Tell them that you want to extend your visa. After that, fill in the form, and submit your passport.
- You’ll get a waiting ticket, and when your number is called, collect your receipt.
- They will keep your passport, so you need to keep the receipt as a temporary identity proof. It will show you the date you need to come back to the immigration office and the amount of fee you need to pay.
- Pay for the extension by going to the bank or post office.
- On your second visit, they will ask you to do a quick biometric session (profile picture and finger scan) at the immigration office.
- On your third and last visit, return to the immigration office where you will be handed back your passport, and your VoA extension is a cold fact.
With our service, we’ll save your time by cutting down the visits to one. All you need to do is hand us the required documents, and come to the immigration office for a quick biometric session. You can request the extension up to a week maximum before the expiration date and you’ll get a free pick and drop off services based on your location.
Single Entry Visa (B211)
If you are traveling to Indonesia for tourism or business-related purposes, and you intend to stay for more than 60 days, then you’ll need a Single Entry Visa.
It’s one of the favorite options for people who want to stay in Bali for the long term. The visa allows you to stay up to 180 days or 6 months.
The first 60 days are valid after you register the visa and enter Indonesia for the first time. You can have an additional 60-day stay permit twice by registering an extension to the immigration office.
The registration and extension of Single Entry Visa requires you to have a sponsor based on the purpose of your visit. If you don’t have a sponsor, you can choose a reliable visa agent such as Kamala Visa Bali to do the job. Contact us for more information about Single Entry Visa extension.
