Many tourists who are planning to visit Indonesia for an extended period may have heard of various visas with codes attached to them, one of which is the B211 visa. Even though it is widely popular among travelers, many people still ask us, what exactly is the B211 visa in Indonesia?
B211 visa, commonly called Single Entry visa, is a type of visa intended for foreign individuals who will travel to Indonesia for various reasons.
It’s one of the most sought-after visas among foreigners because it is easy to apply and also relatively cheap to process. Compared to Visa On Arrival, B211 visa is valid twice as long, giving you a permit to stay in Indonesia for a minimum of 2 months, up to 6 months with extensions.
There are 3 types of B211 visa in Indonesia:
- B211A or Single Entry Tourist visa, intended for tourism purposes.
- B211B or Single Entry Business visa, intended for business purposes, excluding any type of paid working activities.
- B211C is intended for foreigners who are in Indonesia for journalistic and filmmaking activities.
As the name suggests, a Single Entry visa will expire once you leave the country. If you wish to do multiple visits to Indonesia, you can apply for a Multiple Visit Visa or a KITAS visa Bali.
What is the difference between VOA and B211?
After you understand what the B211 visa is in Indonesia, you also need to understand the difference between B211 and VOA.
First, the duration. Visa On Arrival is valid for a base of a month and can only be extended once for an additional 30 days. On the other hand, a B211 or Single Entry visa is valid for a minimum period of 60 days. You can extend it twice for 60 additional days each, which give you a total duration of 180 days.
The second key difference is sponsorship. While you can get a VOA by simply coming to the airport and processing it yourself on the same day, you’re going to need a sponsorship to create a single-entry visa. You can obtain a sponsorship from a local company or you can hire a visa agent like Kamala Visa Bali.
How long does it take to get a B211 visa in Bali?
It takes around 7-14 working days provided there are no public holidays in the process. If you want, we can give you an express application so you don’t need to wait that long. For more information, you can contact us or meet us at our office at Kerobokan Kelod, North Kuta.
Why should I get a Single Entry visa and not a Visa on Arrival?
You may want to choose a Single Entry visa over the Visa on Arrival for a number of reasons.
- You want to stay longer than 60 days in Indonesia.
- You are a foreign national outside the 92 nationalities that are eligible for VOA. You can check the list here.
- You are on a business trip to Indonesia and do not want to spend $100 each month for a working visa (KITAS).
What is the best way to get your Single Entry Visa?
After reading “What is the B211 visa in Indonesia?”, you finally come to the final question, “What is the best way to get your B211 visa?”.
B211 visa is a convenient and cost-effective choice for you who want to explore Bali for a period of 2-6 months. Despite a huge array of benefits, easy to say that it’s not as easy to get as a VOA because you need a sponsorship to apply for a Single Entry visa.
